Acceptable Use Policy
Rules for responsible use of SurfLocal.us accounts, content, publishing, and communication tools.
1. Use the platform lawfully
Use only accounts, business identities, content, and data you are authorized to manage. Follow applicable law and the rules governing connected services. Do not misrepresent your affiliation, credentials, services, prices, or authority to act for someone else.
2. Protect people and their information
Do not use the platform for fraud, threats, harassment, unlawful discrimination, exploitation, or exposing private information without authority. Do not collect sensitive personal information through general-purpose forms unless the collection and required safeguards have been expressly approved for that use.
Do not import, enrich, export, or distribute contact information merely because it is publicly accessible. You remain responsible for a lawful purpose, required notice, and channel-specific permission.
3. Keep communications permission-based
No unsolicited or unlawful messaging, deceptive sender identities, misleading links, purchased-consent claims that do not actually authorize the messages, or attempts to bypass opt-outs. Follow the Messaging Terms. An internal sending tool is not an exemption from these responsibilities.
4. Respect content rights and truthfulness
Do not publish material that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy, or other rights. Do not fabricate testimonials or reviews, impersonate customers, or make unsupported claims. Review generated and AI-assisted material before publication. Offers must accurately describe their limitations and be honored by the business making them.
5. Protect the service
Do not upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, bypass account or business-identity checks, misuse credentials or verification links, interfere with other users, or overwhelm the platform. Do not probe systems beyond your authorization. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately without accessing others' records or publishing exploit details.
6. Reports and corrective action
Report suspected abuse or rights violations to contact@surflocal.us. Identify the relevant public page or feature, explain the concern, and include enough information to investigate without sending passwords or unnecessary personal records.
Surflocal Media LLC may review reports, request corrections, remove affected content, or restrict access as appropriate to the circumstances and applicable agreements. This policy is not a promise that all content is monitored or that every violation will be detected.
